Plagued by students who ask non-stop questions? For just one class period impose a one question limit, where each student in the room is allowed to ask you just one, and ONLY one, question.
What that will cause in your students:
-be better listeners
-be more self-reliant
-see the need to ask other students in the room before coming directly to you
-weigh and value the words they ask you, and not just rattle off when a thought strikes
-a more equal balance in the classroom, as everyone can now get more of your attention, not just the 3-4 who speak constantly (the quiet ones have been waiting for this moment)
No huge commitment here; just try it for one class period and see how it goes, and where it leads you.
