Geology Squeeze Box-Mountain Formation
This lesson uses the Geology Squeeze Box made by Ward’s Science to tell the story of one particular spot on earth where rising and falling water levels cause 3 different kinds of sediment become laid down.
After the layers of sediment have formed, the lesson climaxes when we squeeze them and watch compressional stress cause deformations like anticlines, synclines, faults, and folded mountains right before our eyes. No longer will those terms be meaningless to students.
