Metric Estimation Domination
Problem- you say that something has a mass of 20 grams, and no one knows what you’re talking about.
This lesson helps solve this problem by having students guess the mass, volume, and length of random objects, and then measure what they actually are. Yes, they’ll be quite wrong at first, but they’ll get better with each object, causing them to become more familiar with the metric system. Which means they’ll understand now what “20 grams” actually is when you mention it.
